June Blog: What the heck is a conditioning treatment?

Ever go to a salon, and see "conditioning treatment' on the menu? Wonder if you should be getting one? In this brief blog post I'm going to tell you about them.

Conditioning treatments are in-salon hair treatments, that condition & add moisture to dull dried-out hair. In some extreme cases, some clients may need extra protein in their conditioning treatment to fortify their overly highlighted hair. In salon treatments are more powerful and nutrient rich than the over-the-counter stuff you get online or in Target.

The name of my protein treatment is Keratriplex, and it's at the luxury level price of $55+. This treatment helps correct the broken bonds in the hair that has been damaged from things such as: medication or chemical damage. I rarely use this one in my business. If you have normal healthy hair, choosing one of the three levels listed below will work just fine!

I apply my treatments with a bowl & brush on freshly shampooed hair. They feel much like a heavy conditioner, and a plastic cap is placed on your head while you sit under the dryer for 20 minutes. Sitting under the dryer allows the moisture to penetrate into the hair shaft, so you leave the salon with shiny moisturized hair, full of body and shine. I offer three levels of luxury for my conditioning treatments: Entry level - $5-$15 Mid-range - $20-$35 Luxury* - $55+ 'Hydrotriplex Moisture Treatment

What's the difference between the three levels? Level of ability to repair and replenish dry hair...or ability to penetrate into the hair fibers to give you lasting moisture. Which one should you choose? Depends on how damaged your hair is & your budget.

At the minimum do an Entry level 1-conditioning treatment once a month.

Or go for the more rich Mid-range: conditioning treatment once a month.

The name of my Luxury level or, 'Gold Standard' in conditioning treatments, is: Hydrotriplex. You should do it once every two - three months. This is the one I use to keep my hair hydrated & shiny. There is a marked difference between mid-range & luxury. But both are good!

=If you have longer thicker hair it will be more.

If you refer a friend and they come in for a haircut, you'll receive a complimentary Mid-range treatment at your next visit!

Now you know what an In-Salon Conditioning treatment is. Try one today, you'll love how your hair feels!
